Machine Operator works with machines to run it hands on. Since machine operators are usually are operating one type of machine they have to understand the technology in 'overview'. Usually, the machine operator has to work in three main types of machines; Automatic, semi-automatic and manual. Operators do not need to program the machines. They are responsible for working with the products created by the machines and with the input as well as the processing and the output of the machines. Thus the tasks include, filling the raw materials, and taking them out... running the machine, and shutting them down

Machine Operators usually do the following

They look over and measure parts with precision tools in order to make sure certain parts meet pre-determined quality.

Machine technician are expected to meet production quotas. The level of documentation required varies, depending on the degree of precision needed for the finished product. Machine operators also need to keep track of the number of units that are scrapped due to various errors.

Due to production line requirements, machine operators work in an environment where teamwork is important.
