Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) is a five and a half year long undergraduate course of Kathmandu University which includes one year compulsory internship. The Degree awarded is Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, MBBS. The standards and criteria adopted in strict adherence to the requirements of Nepal Medical Council and Kathmandu University.

Ten Medical Colleges offers MBBS program in Nepal with affiliation from Kathmandu University.

The KU MBBS program has been divided into three parts: the first two years of study consists of basic medical sciences. These years also include an introduction to clinical sciences. Over the next two and half years, students learn the principles and skills of clinical medicine by rotating through various medical specialties. The final one year consists of internship. The BPH program aims to prepare professional public health specialists with the highest technical and managerial competence in district level health programs, including problem identification, planning, implementing, training, health education, and research.

Such specialists can serve in various types of positions at national, regional, zonal, district or local levels. They will be needed in various kinds of governmental or non-governmental health agencies, hospital, schools and institutions, other possible area of absorption may involve special responsibilities, e.g. working directly with local communities and individuals, working primarily with school teachers, administering health education services, and preparing health workers in public health fields.

The Bachelor of Optometry (BOptom) covers both clinical optometry and vision science and involves the study of the basic physical and life sciences as they relate to the visual system. Bachelor of Science in Medical Imaging Technology (B.Sc. MIT) is a 4-year academic program at the Institute of Medicine (IOM). Bachelor of Science in Medical Imaging Technology focuses on the innumerable technical procedures for diagnosing various diseases processes. This program is designed to meet the new requirements of the health sector, wherein the students are educated & trained in the technical aspects of the procedures, with a special emphasis on the basis anatomy & pathophysiology of the disease process. Bachelor in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology (BASLP) is a 4-year academic programe at the Institute of medicine (IOM) only. The course enables the speech and hearing specialist, commonly referred to as Audiologist and Speech Pathologist, to provide services to the sufferers of hearing disorders and speech defects like stammering, stuttering, voice disorder, delayed speech and language development disorders due to any cause. The Bachelor of Pharmacy (Bpharm) degree is designed to provide graduates with the core skills and knowledge required for effective delivery of pharmaceutical care and the ability to proceed to research. The degree covers the study of the chemical, physical, pharmaceutical, and pharmacological properties of medicinal substances and the application of these in the pharmacy profession.The course provides knowledge and skills that enable on safe and rational use, quality and economic production, quality control/quality assurance of drugs and research and development of new drugs. The bachelor in nursing science program aim is to prepare competent graduate nurses who can work independently as a member of health team to provide preventive, promotive, curative and rehabilitative care, to teach in the different health institutions and conduct leadership role in various health care settings as well as in research activities.It prepares nurses for a wide variety of professional roles and graduate study. Course work includes nursing science, research, leadership, and related sciences that inform the practice of nursing. It also provides the student with general education in math, humanities and social sciences. An undergraduate degree affords opportunities for greater career advancement and higher salary options. It is often a prerequisite for teaching, administrative, consulting and research roles. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is not currently required for entry into professional nursing. The world "Ayurveda" is composed of two Sanskrit terms viz. 'ayu' meaning 'life' and 'veda' meaning 'knowledge'. Therefore 'ayurveda' means "knowledge of life or science of life".

BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery) is a basic doctor course in Ayurveda. It is five and half years course including one year rotating internship. The curriculums of BAMS is as approved by IOM TU, Ayurvedic Medical Council of Nepal and ICCM of India. BAMS course is also equivalent with MBBS .
After BAMS one can do MD, MS, PHD etc is different field. Nowadays, most of the developed countries are also paying their special attention towards Ayurveda Medical Science, so the scope of Ayurveda Medical Science is increasing day by day in the world.
